If you are an active staff or faculty member according to Human Resources, use "Exchange". All other students, use "AC Connect (Google) Email".

Expected Student Behavior

  • No administrative withdrawals will be initiated by the instructor. It is the responsibility of the student to withdraw before the deadline.

  • All students are expected to be courteous to each other in the discussion forums.

Grading Criteria

\ 25% - 2 mini papers

\ 25% - 3 Exams

\

\ 25% -  Discussion Forums

\

\ 25% - Semester project

\

\ Any papers turned in late will not be accepted.

\

\ Discussions after the due date can not be made up.

\

\ All exams have a lengthy time that they can be taken.  There will be no make up exams.

Attendance

Because this is an online course, attendance is not necessary.  However it is recommended that each student check the online course at least 2 to 3 times a week

  Discussion Forums are a large part of this class.  It is necessary to check and read all discussion postings during the course.  You are required to post and reply in order to get a 100% on a discussion forum.  If you only post once – the grade is 50%.  If you do not post – the grade is 0.  A discussion forum cannot be made up.  Once the discussion is due, it will close and you will not be able to go into the forum.

Week Two - Chapter 3, Perception; Chapter 4, Listening;  The first mini paper, The first exam

Week Three - Chapter 10, Relationship development

Week Four - Chapter 11, Friendship, Family and Love

Week Five - Chapter 12 - Conflict & Chapter 13 - Power; 2nd mini paper and 2nd exam

Week Six - Chapter 5 - Verbal Language;  Class Project assigned

Seek Seven - Chapter 6, Non Verbal Messages; Chapter 7, Emotions

Week Eight - Chapter 8 - Final Exam Review; Final Exam.
