Prerequisites

Course Description

Principles and techniques of aircraft firefighting. Meets the curriculum requirements of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) for Basic Aircraft Rescue Fire Suppression.

Expected Student Behavior

See Amarillo College's East Campus Code of Conduct and Amarillo Fire Department's SOG's. 

Grading Criteria

Students must pass all written and online test with a minimum score of 70 to pass the class.

90-100=A

80-89=B

70-79=C

<70=F

Attendance

Students must attend all required class days, complete online lessons, take quizzes and test.  Completion of these lessons is necessary in order to particiipate in live fire training, and skills testing. 

Calendar

Course begins on August 18th.  Students will meet at Fire Station 10 from 1900-2200

There will be a module test over chapters 1-5 on Sept. 4th,  and a module test over chapters 6-9 on Sept. 16th, Chapts. 10-11 on Sept. 22nd. 

Live Fire will be on Sept. 23th, 24th, 25th 

Skills test will be on Sept. 26th, and/or 29th

Course ends on Sept. 29th with Final Test given at station 10.
