    \ (Minimum Competencies)  After studying the materials presented in this course of study, the student will be able to do the following as evaluated by the faculty in the department/program:

    • \ Identify the principles and elements of space planning for residential and basic commercial projects
    • \
    • \ Identify code and ADA requirements as they apply to design.

    • \ Evaluate client needs for residential projects including, but not limited to home office, social spaces, work spaces, and private spaces.

    • \  Determine client needs for furniture, fixtures, and materials.

    • \ Complete a design for a residential and/or commercial project as assigned by instructor.

    Expected Student Behavior

    \ Students are expected to follow the guidelines as defined in the AC Students Rights & Responsibilities which can be found on the AC Website.  Cell phones are to remain off during class, and students may be asked to cleave class if they are being disruptive and thus inteferring with the learning enviroment.  Students are also expected to dress appropriately as defined by instructor for events and field trips.

    \ A = 90-100; B = 80-89; C = 70-79; D = 60-69; F = Below 60

    \ Any work missed must be completed within one week of original dealine or by special arrangements with instructor.  Otherwise, student will be assigned a zero for the missed work.

    \ It is the student's responsibility to get classnotes and assignments from fellow classmates.
