Textbooks are not required. Fitness log will be accessible online at www.livestrong.com.

\ Students must wear suitable clothes for moderate to intense exercise. Sweats, shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirts and or sweatshirts are appropriate. Students not dressed accordingly will not be able to use the equipment.
\\ Students must have
\ By the end of the semester the student will be able to satisfactorily complete all of the listed learning objectives with a minimum 70% competency level based upon regular participation in moderate fitness activities and completion of required assignments. Also the student will:

1. Acquire essential skills for making positive behavior changes in the areas of Nutrition, Fitness, Stress Management and Weight Management.
\
2. Choose and participate in an exercise program throughout the semester.
\
3. Complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionaire(PAR-Q) form.
\
4 Complete a Pre and Post fitness evaluation.
\
5. Set specific long term and short term goals and monitor progress throughout the semester.
\
6. Keep a daily log of exercise activities.
\
7. Identify an aerobic conditioning, flexibilty and/or strength training program and progress through it during the semsester.
\
8. Learn what the warm-up, aerobic/strength exercise, and cool down phases of exercise are.
\
9. Become familiar with various aerobic, flexibility and/or strength training exercises which may or may not include exercise machines.
\
10. Show improvement in fitness level as measured by the pre/post fitness evaluation.
\
11. Participate in sufficient exercise sessions throughout the semester to show improvement in either strength, flexibility or aerobic fitness.

\\ Students MUST use their F3 fitness badge to gain entry into the gym. Please try to have your badge with you to avoid confusion at class time. If you do not have a badge let the instructor know immediately. You must swipe your badge at the door and at the desk to accurately record your attendance!

Badges issued by F3 must returned to the F3 fitness center at the end of the course!

Cell phones are only allowed to be used in class when on the silent mode. All phones may be monitored but not answered for social conversation.

1. Attendance - 25% (Student must participate in a total of 2/ 1 hour workouts each week unless otherwise directed by instructor).
\
2. Performance Assessment – 25% (Students must complete a pre (first three workouts) and post (Before the last class day) fitness assessment and show improvement)
\
3.) Online Discussion – 25% (Student my post discussions based on weekly reading assignments online. Must also reply to 2 student posts).
\
4). Online journal --- 25% (Students must log in and record food and activity journal weekly (minimum of 1 per week) by utilizing the website Livestrong.com.

Students who do not finish the course and who do not formally drop the course through the Registrar’s Office will receive a grade of F.

Three make-ups allowed….
Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class.
\ \Students must attend class on Thursdays at 5:30pm. The second workout will be at the student’s discretion per facility hours of operation. Attendance is worth 100 points each week. 2 workouts = 100 points. 1 Workout =50 points.
\ Pre and Post Fitness Test (week 1,5, 10, 15)
\\ The final exam will be discussed in class and is due the 16th week of class.
\\ All other weeks, you will be doing a variety of exercises to help you reach your fitness goals. In addition, each week the student will:
