Student Performance

\  The drafting student will complete a comprehensive project from inception to conclusion.  Each student is expected to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of drafting skills, cad software, and working drawings.  Each student will do a formal presentation to instructors and a drafting class, making use of drawings, renderings, and presentation tools appropriate to the project.  Each student will submit a project outline, weekly journal entries documenting progress and time spent, and a final project report.  Each student will meet with the instructor four times during the semester.

\ The project should require a minimum of 100 hours to complete.  The project outline is due by the end (Friday) of the third week of class.  The first weekly journal entry is due by the end (Friday) of week two, and then every Friday after that until the presentation.  Presentations will be scheduled for the last two weeks of class before finals.  The instructor will schedule an initial meeting the first week of classes with all the students, and then several individual follow-up meetings during the semester.

\ It is the responsibility of the student to initiate drop or withdrawal procedures.  Students who stop attending class but do not officially drop or withdraw from this course will receive a letter grade at the end of the semester.

Grading Criteria

A - 89.5 and above

B - 79.5 to 89.4

C - 69.5 to 79.4

D - 59.5 to 69.4

F - 59.4 and below

 

The final grade will be computed as follows: 
 
    Journals                                                     20%
    Outline                                                       10%
    Meetings                                                   20%
    Report                                                       30%
    Presentation                                             10%
    Drawing Project                                        40%

Students will complete a project outline, weekly journal entries, and a final report, all of which must be printed from a word processor.  Late assignments will be lowered ten points. Assignments later than one week from their due dates will receive a grade of 0. 

 

Attendance

\  Each student is responsible for his or her own schedule.  Weekly journals will be submitted to document activities, time spent, and progress.

\ Each student is responsible for regularly checking the ACconnect web site and student Gmail to keep up with messages and announcements.
