   Student Performance

   The student will utilize basic math skills; apply basic math skills to solve business application problems using an electronic calculator/keyboard; and develop speed and accuracy using spreadsheet software and/or electronic calculator/keyboard.

   1. Utilize basic math skills.
   2. Apply basic math skills to solve business application problems using an electronic calculator/keyboard.
   3. Develop speed and accuracy using spreadsheet software and/or electronic calculator/keyboard.
   4. Solve percentage problems by applying the formulas for base, rate, and percentage.
   5. Compute discounts; compute percentages in business applications.
   6. Calculate commissions.
   7. Prepare and maintain all aspects included in payroll records. 
   8. Determine markup and markdown based on cost and on selling price. 
   9. Calculate net proceeds from sales on consignments. 
   10. Compute account sales and account purchases.
   11. Compute simple interest, interest by the ordinary interest method, and exact interest, and use shortcut methods of computing interest.
   12. Determine due dates and compute interest variables on promissory notes and trade acceptances.
   13. Determine single-payment interest, unpaid-balances interest, compare cash discount versus interest on loan, calculate discount interest, and discount commercial paper.
   14. Calculate finance charges, stated rates, and effective rates; determine monthly payments on installment loans and determine interest and principal payments on mortgages.
   15. Demonstrate, through speed tests, an acceptable proficiency on the ten-key pad by the touch method.
   16. Use calculator features to solve business mathematical applications demonstrating the ten-key touch method.

   Attendance

   Since this is an online course, attendance is not recorded. You are expected to invest approximately the same amount of time as a traditional, seated course requires.
