EMSP-2135-001 Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Prerequisite: Open to any licensed physician, nurse, paramedic or respiratory therapist with a current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BCLS card
Theory and skills necessary for the management of cardiovascular emergencies as specified by the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

\ Learning Outcomes: Manage a cardiovascular patient according to the American Heart Association guidelines.

AHA Certification Exam = 75% of final average
AHA Skill Performance = 25% of final average
The grading scale is as follows:
A = 90% and up
B = 80% - 89%
C = 70% - 79%
F = Below 70%
Students taking this course as Continuing Education with receive a "S" for successful completion or a "U" if unsuccessful.
IMPORTANT: The AHA requires the student to make an "84 or higher" on the certifiaction exam to successfully complete the course and receive AHA Course Completion Card. Remediation may be available.
\ Due to the length of this course 100% attendance is mandatory for the the student to effectively compete for a satisfactory grade and an opportunity to sit for the certification examinations.
