EMSP-2243-001 Assessment Based Management
Corequisite: EMSP 2267
A capstone experience covering comprehensive, assessment based patient care management. Includes specific care when dealing with pediatric, adult, geriatric and special-needs patients.

\ At the completion of this course, the student will have demonstrated sufficient mastery of the course objectives, listed at the beginning of each text chapter, to effectively assess and manage patients. It is desired that course goals be accomplished to the extent that the student’s final grade is not less than a grade of “C” as evaluated by the program faculty. A final grade less than “C” will result in failure of the course.

\ Students will be required to abide by the Student Code of Conduct, which can be accessed in the Student's Rights and Responsibilities link above. Cell phones must be on silent mode during class. No texting during class will be allowed. Students may use laptops, tablets, or notebook computers in class for note taking and other classwork. No social media should be used during class.

\Assignment Percentages of Grade
Fisdap Maintenance:
A 1-point deduction from your FINAL average will be taken for each "late" Fisdap email I receive regardless of the class in which it occurred.
Furthermore, each student is required to sign-up for FISDAP lab schedules PRIOR to the announce deadline. If a student does not do so, the student may be advised to withdraw from the course or receive a grade of "F" for the course.
Remember: Fisdap requires a one-time fee of $80 to establish a student's account.
Grading Scale:
A student who will not complete a Major Exam on the scheduled day must contact the instructor before the scheduled exam. If the absence is excused, the test must be taken BEFORE the next class session. A grade of ZERO for that exam will be averaged in if this policy is not followed.
There will be no make-up for missed quiz grades. The lowest quiz grade will be dropped at the end of the semester.
Regular attendance is necessary for successful completion of this course. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class.
\ \After 2 absences from lecture and/or lab, a one point deduction for each additional absence will be taken from the student’s final average.
\ \Each tardy is 0.5 absence (2 tardies=1 absence). There will be no make-up for missed quiz grades. The lowest quiz grade will be dropped.
\ \LABORATORY:
\ \Regular attendance is mandatory for successful completion of this course. No Skill can be failed more than twice for successful completion of this course
