\ Rule Book- Varies from sport to sport. Some chapters provide the book at no cost. Plan to purchase a rule book.
\ Purchase of sports officiating uniform and gear is required. These vary from sport to sport. Cost ranges from $100 - $200 for minimal uniform/gear. Students will be paid for games they officiate and can make money for these items. Students who need
\ By the end of the semester the student will be able to satisfactorily complete all of the listed learning objectives and will be certified and equipped to officiate various levels of sporting events in a specific sport for pay in area schools and recreational sports programs. The student will:

1. Choose a sport to become certified in.
\
3. Attend chapter meetings.
\
4. Score a passing grade on the certifying exam for a sport.
\
5. Attend required workshops that teach how to officiate.
\
6. Officiate at least five games with experienced officials.
\
7. Show proof of certification Through TASO(Texas association of Sports Officials) , UIL or other professional organization appropriate to the student’s chosen sport.

\ Students are expected to follow all Amarillo College and Carter Fitness Center policies and procedures. The following is expected as well.
\\ CELL PHONES: Cell phones are only allowed to be used in class when on the silent mode. All phones may be monitored but not answered for social conversation.
\ 1. COURSE ACTIVITIES- 35% Online assignments, attend chapter meetings, join UIL/TASO, pass cert. exam, officiate 5-8 games
\\ 2. INSTRUCTOR VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTATION- 65% Verification by instructor that course activities are completed.

MAKEUP POLICY: Any missed assignments must be made up with instructor’s approval.
\ REQUIRED EXAMS: Rules test administered through the local chapter.
\\ FINAL EXAM: None
\ 80% of weekly chapter meetings is required. At least five games officiated is required.

Students who do not finish the course and who do not formally drop the course through the Registrar’s Office will receive a grade of F.
