ECON-2301-008 Principles of Macroeconomics
Prerequisite: MATH-0303, RDNG 0331-minimum grade of C or a score on a state-approved test indicating college-level reading and math skills
An analysis of the economy as a whole including measurement and determination of Aggregate Demand and Aggregate Supply, national income, inflation and unemployment. Other topics include international trade, economic growth, business cycles, and fiscal policy and monetary policy.

Expected Student Behavior:
\ \Be on time and prepared for classroom discussion. If food and drink is allowed by the instructor then courtesy of disposing of items is required. Turn off all cell phones and pagers or place on vibrating mode. Study materials will not be permitted while taking tests.
The final course grade will consist of an average of:
\ \A = 100 to 89.5
\ \B = 79.5 to 89.4
\ \C = 69.5 to 79.4
\ \D = 59.5 to 69.4
\ \F = 59.4 and below
\ \Grading Criteria:
\ \The course grade will consist of 3 major exams and 1 final. The final will be cumulative and mandatory. You will also have chapter quizzes due after each chapter, 11 total. Quizzes will be worth 40% of your grade, and tests will be worth 60%, with each test bearing the same weight. Late exams will earn a score of "0". Extra credit is not offered; no grades will be dropped.
It is the responsibility of the student to make up any work missed due to absences and to gain missed lecture information through outside reading and/or notes from classmates. Assignments will not be accepted past the due date for any reason. The final exam cannot be made up.
\ \Working with others or with study material on exams is considered cheating and will result in a grade of "0".
\ \This course in not self-paced. Students are expected to check the course shell frequently for class information.
\ \Attendance will be tracked for those students who are receiving financial aid and/or VA benefits.
