Grading Criteria

Clinical grade will be based on CPEC competiencies,written clinical assignments,medication administration and clinical presentations. If a student is unsuccessful in either the clinical or the classroom clinical, both courses must be repeated concurrently.100% attendance is required in clinical courses. Any time missed will be made up by the student.

Grades will be assigned based on total scores of:

            A=       90-100

            B=       80-89

\ \

            C=       75-79.9  ** Effective May 18, 2014

            D=       60-74

\ \

The following criteria and grading scale will be used to determine the clinical grade:

The written assignments will be graded according to the rubric provided in the syllabus.

Each student will also be required to make a presentation using evidence-based information gathered from nursing literature.  Presentations will be graded according to the rubric provided.

Attendance

Attend 100% of clinical experiences.  No more than 1 excused* absence will be permitted.  That absence will be made up on a set day as designated by the course instructor.  A clinical absence of more than 1 day will result in course failure.  (*Planned events, vacations, & work schedules are not excused absences.)
