Course Description

Computer application specific software. Emphasizes the concurrent development of office skills and computer knowledge. This course is designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

   Student Performance

   The student will be able to complete satisfactorily all the Learning Outcomes with a competency level based on the completion of required examinations administered under the supervision of the instructor and evaluated according to the instructors grading scale in the Office Administration Department.

   1. Utilize basic computer terminology applicable to office administration.
   2. Understand computer hardware and apply to an office situation.
   3. Develop confidence with operating systems and application, educational, graphics, and business software.  Utilities will also be emphasized.
   4. Comprehend computer memory options and security.
   5. Practice file management.
   6. Explore network hardware and transporting data (i.e., LANS).
   7. Develop proficiency in accessing the Internet and e-mail services through Web browsers, as well as exploring e-commerce sites.
