Prerequisite: BASM 0301 or MATH 0301-minimum grade of C or acceptable TSI or Accuplacer math score.

Student Performance

The Online Basic Academic Skills course is designed to help students build basic skills in math. After completing this course, students should be able to:

1. Pass the Math section of the GED exam.
\
2. Meet the TSI requirement for math and become eligible to enroll in Beginning Algebra level classes.

Students who fail to comply with the standards outlined in the syllabus and/or “Student Rights & Responsibilities” will be subject to disciplinary action which may include but is not limited to:

This is an online course.  It is your responsibility to:

1.  Ensure access to a computer with a dependable internet connection.

2.  To be committed to at least 10-20 hours each week to complete the required assignments for each week.

3.  To get help when technical difficulties occur. It is your responsibility to contact HAWKES' technicians as soon as possible.

Please note that I'm here to help you and to ensure that you are getting the help and the support that you need to be successful in this course. If technical difficulties occur or if you need a deadline extension for that week's assignments (no more than 2 days), please contact me via email as soon as possible.

The following criteria will be used to determine your grade:

• Click on My Grades on the menu to the left.  You will only see the attendance portion of your grade until the end of the semester.

• Scroll down to Self Service on bottom right of the page, and click on Current Student.

• Under current student, click on Academic Profile and then Grades.

Attendance

There is no mandatory attendance required for this course. However, in order to be successful, you are expected to work at least 10-20 hours each week to complete the weekly assignments.

For additional help with this online class, you may visit the Access Learning Center located on the 3rd floor of the Lynn Library building, Room 300 on the Washington Street Campus.
