Grading Criteria

Grading Scale:  This is a Pass/ Fail course
85% = Pass

Grading Policy:

30 %      Class participation
                Attendance on scheduled course meeting days
                Full participation when we travel

25%        Research paper (individual)
15%        Research class presentation (may be group effort)
15%        AC panel discussion presentation following our travel
15%        Honors Expo! presentation (may be a group effort) OR – presentation at a civic event

Attendance

Attendance & participation (30%):
This course requires participation and attendance since many activities cannot be duplicated.
The following criteria will determine the attendance portion of the participation grade:

No more than 2 absences - 100                             6 absences – 50
3 absences - 90                                                       7 absences – 30
4 absences - 80                                                       8 absences – 0
5 absences - 70                                                       Two tardies (or early exits) will equal an absence.
