The objective of the Travel Destination I - Western Hemisphere course is to give the student the opportunity to become familiar with tourist destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, South America and the Caribbean Islands. This course will give the student who intends to pursue Tourism as a career a way to identify destinations in a professional manner or to better understand the destination from a traveler`s point-of-view.

Grading Scale
A (90-100).. Excellent
B (80-89).... Above average, very good
C (70-79).... Average, good
D (60-69).... Poor, but passing
F (60-0)...... Failing
The final grade will be determined by the total number of points scored from all tests and assignments. The instructor reserves the right to subjectively influence the final grade relative to online work.
Absence
Students are expected to work and sign in to the online course at your own pace throughout the semester in order to meet the assignments as outlined in the syllabus.
Exams
All tests and Final Paper need to be completed prior to the final week of classes in order to be averaged in the final grade. Any test not completed will be given a grade of F, Zero points. Each Exam will be comprised of 10 Questions. Each short answer will be worth 10 points for a possible 100. You may take the exams as many times as you want in order to improve your grade. There is no time limit on the test. The highest score will be reflected in your Grade Tab.
The Final will be a written paper submitted before the end of the semester and will receive equal weight in the final grade.
Final Written Paper will consist of a submitted essay over a destination of your choice in the Western Hemisphere. The Final Paper will be averaged into the total grade point equally with all other required exams.
Assignments Students are expected to meet all requirements as outlined in the syllabus course calender. Students must log in and purchase the text prior to the second week of classes. The student must complete and submit the Personal Data Sheet by the second week of class in order to be counted as a student in this course.
Students should follow a rigorous schedule and work each week in this online course in order to complete successfully.
Withdrawal policy
A student who fails to officially drop or withdraw from a course at the Registrar prior to the posted catalog deadline will receive a failing grade. It is the student's responsibility to withdraw prior to the withdrawal date. Check the College Calendar for the drop date.
