INSTRUCTIONAL METHOD / EXAMINATIONS: There will be graded online homework assignments, five online chapter exams, a written midterm exam, a written final exam, blackboard assignments and course notebook.

Homework will be assigned over each section online. The online assignments are posted on the http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ website. It is your responsibility to complete these assignments by 11:59 p.m. Central time on their due date. Late homework will not be accepted under any circumstances, so plan accordingly. Written homework consists of keeping a log of written work that accompanies the online homework assignments. |

Blackboard Assignments |
Assignments called Portfolios will be assigned on Blackboard. Specific instructions on how to complete and submit the portfolios will be provided on Blackboard with the assignment. |

Chapter Examinations |
Five chapter exams will be taken online and graded electronically. These online exams will be due by 11:59 p.m. Central time on the due date. Late exams, make-up exams, and/or re-tests will not be accepted or allowed. Your lowest exam will be dropped at the end of the semester. |

Midterm & Final Exam |
A midterm and final will be given during the semester. These two tests must be taken at the Washington Street Campus Math Testing Center or at an approved testing site. The available days to complete the midterm and final exams are listed below. Once the midterm and final exams are completed, they will be kept on file at Amarillo College. Midterm: October 14, 15, 16, 17, 19 Final: December 5, 7, 8, 9 Only under extenuating verifiable circumstances and at the instructor's discretion will you be allowed to complete the midterm or final after the posted due date. You will receive a grade of “0” on the Midterm and Final if you fail to complete it by the due date without making prior arrangements. No exceptions!!! |

Expectations and Requirements for this course
Every online class is different; it makes sense to outline my policies and expectations so that each student is well informed as they begin the class as to what will be required of them.
Weekly Routine
At the beginning of each week, the student should first log in to AC Connect. In the Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences course, navigate to the "Weekly Lessons" link on the left side menu and locate the lesson(s) for the week. Read the Weekly Activities document. Here you will find information about what you need to complete for the week. Work through the information in the "Weekly Activities" document. Then, navigate to www.pearsonmylab.com, and complete the online MyMathLab homework. Systematically log work associated with the MyMathLab problems on notebook. Enter answers in MyMathLab to check for correctness.) Take assigned exams on MyMathLab by the deadlines posted on the sylalbus.
