Prerequisite: RDNG 0331-minimum grade of C or a score on a state-approved test indicating college-level reading skills

Course Description

Survey of meteorology and related sciences. Topics include weather monitoring, atmosphere, tropical weather, climate, forecasting and weather data analysis.

E-package can be purchased through the AC bookstore or by download at the following website:  http://www.ametsoc.org/amsedu/bookstorelink/index.html (American Meteorological Society)

Whether you purchase the e-package from the AC Bookstore or the AMS, you must have an e-pub reader installed on your computer to read the books. At the above website, the AMS has a link for a free Adobe e-pub reader that you can download. It greatly simplifies the download process if you first install the e-pub reader and then download the e-books.

The Final grade will be composed of:

\ Discussion Thread            5%
\ Weekly Investigations      40%
\ Exams                             50%

\ The 2 lowest Investigations and 1 lowest exam score will be dropped.

The overall course grade will be according to the following percentages:

A   90 - 100 %
\ B   80 - 89.99 %
\ C  70 - 79.99 %
\ D  60 - 69.99 %
\ F - Below 60 %

There will be no extra credit assignments. If you have a question about a grade, you have two weeks from the date that the grade is posted to ask for a review. After that two weeks the grade will be permanent.
