The National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA) have developed a comprehensive overview of neuromusculoskeletal, vocal and hearing health issues for postsecondary schools and departments of music. Information of a medical nature is provided by PAMA; information regarding contextual issues in music programs, by NASM. The following links address the risk of noise-induced hearing loss, neuromusculoskeletal and vocal injury—all of which are widespread and serious public health issues for musicians and others.

\ 1. MUSIC: All music will be provided by either Amarillo College or the Amarillo Symphony. You will be held financially responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen music.
\\ 2. PERFORMANCE DRESS: Women will wear conservative
The goal of this course is to have fun experiencing the expressive possibilities of singing significant choral literature, and to share this experience with each other and our audience. After completion of the semester, the student will:
1. Learn vocal fundamentals and improve their singing through increasing vocal flexibility.
2. Learn the listening skills required for choral blend and balance.
3. Increased their knowledge of choral literature and style.
4. Meet new people and experience a bond of friendship with each other through music
5. Perform significant choral/orchestral works at a professional level
Literature includes selection from all periods. Meets Monday evenings. Advanced choral literature stressed. Amarillo Master Chorale is a non-profit incorporated community chorus affiliated with Amarillo College. Repertoire consists generally of significant choral/orchestra works.

\ a. You must have a positive attitude, and be encouraging to others!
\\ b. You must participate in all dress rehearsals and concerts/performances, and make every effort to attend all Monday evening rehearsals.
\\ c. You must keep talking to a minimum during rehearsal, unless you have a musical question.
\\ d. You must pay attention to instruction given to other voice parts that may apply to your part.
\\ e. You must bring a pencil to every rehearsal to mark your music with appropriate directions.
\\ f. You must be willing to work as a team to fulfill musical goals.
\\ g. You must make every effort to come to rehearsal on time.
\ An audition is required as a prerequisite of this class. Grading is based on attendance and preparation for rehearsals during class.
\ ATTENDANCE POLICY: Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class. In addition:
\\ 1. You are expected to attend every rehearsal. If you are not able to attend a rehearsal, please contact your section leader or Dr. Weber.
\\ 2.You are expected to participate in all concerts and dress rehearsals. Please contact Dr. Weber if you have a scheduling conflict well in advance of our concert week.
