\ Must have access to the internet and email. Will need paper, pencils, pens and pocket folders. Able to print or copy assignments in hard copy.

\ A study of appropriate programs for the school age child (5 - 13) including an overview of development, appropriate environments, materials, and activities and teaching/guidance techniques.

\ 1. Outline growth and development of the school age child.

\ 2.Analyze components of quality school age programs, and elements of appropriate indoor and outdoor environments.

\ 3. Provide developmentally appropriate materials and activities.

\ 4. Use developmentally appropriate teaching and guidance techniques.

\ The student will maintain the good manners and responsible behavior that reflects the position of respect a teacher will hold in the lives of young people.

\ 1. Use excellent communication skills

\ 2. Use respectul language with instructor, youth and peers.

\ 3. The use of phones, texting, emails and other communication tools will be agreed upon in class by instructor and students.

\ 4. Food and drinks are allowed in this classroom.

\ 5. Leave each classroom clean and neat.

Grading Criteria

50% Book Report on NO EXCUSES UNIVERSITY

40% chapter summary of Introduction to Teaching

10% Final Compare and Contrast Essay on Quality Programs for School Age Children

Projects are expected to be typed and organized well.

Attendance

\ The student will attend by appointment all meetings with the instructor and keep all deadlines online for course assignments.
