ARTV-2351-001 3-D Animation II
Prerequisite: ARTC 1341
Skill development in three-dimensional modeling and rendering techniques using lighting, staging and special effects for digital output. Emphasis on the production of three-dimensional (3-D) animation as final digital outputting using modeling, rendering and animation software.

4. Course Goals/Objectives—Utilize advanced animation techniques and production skills; and develop a sense of weight and motion with rigs
in animated shots. Performance/Learning Objectives;
A) Produce 2D animation
B) Exhibit knowledge of modeling in a 3D modeling program
C) Exhibit knowledge of texturing 3D models in a 3D program
D) Exhibit knowledge of real world lighting situations within a 3D program
E) Produce 3D animation and rigging capabilities
F) Exhibit knowledge of staging and design through NLE video graphics program
G) The student will produce a Sophomore Project as an individual or part of a team

—WHILE IN CLASS: A student friendly environment is needed for learning. There are FIVE (5) guidelines each student must adhere to.

Continual disregard for set guidelines will result in removal from class and a zero (0) for day which will be averaged with the rest of your grades.
GRADING:
—Having the proper tools the student will complete all tasks required. The instructor will provide lecture, demonstration and or group discussion
to help the student complete each task.
—The nature of the Industry dictates that anyone with below entry levels skills will not be hired in the workforce: therefore, any student with
below a grade average of a 70 will receive an “F” for the class.
0-69 = F (Failing)
70-79 = C (average skills)
80-89 = B (needs improving)
90-100 = A (excellent skills)

NO EXCEPTIONS!—Late work violates industry standards; therefore, a grade of “0” will be given to the student.
NO EXCEPTIONS!—Anyone caught cheating or plagiarizing copyright material will receive an “F” for the class.
ATTENDANCE:—Students are allowed one (1) week of absences from class. Student’s final grade will be lowered by one letter grade
for each additional abscence. One point off final grade average for every week of tardiness.
NO EXCEPTIONS!—2 absences = NO ACTION—2 tardiness = 1 POINT OFF FINAL GRADE
NO EXCEPTIONS!—4 absences = 1 LETTER GRADE—4 tardiness = 2 POINTS OFF FINAL GRADE
NO EXCEPTIONS!—6 absences = 2 LETTER GRADES—6 tardiness = 3 POINTS OFF FINAL GRADE
