POFT-2203-002 Speed and Accuracy Building
Prerequisite: Existing keyboarding skill of 25 wpm
Review, correct and improve keyboarding techniques for the purpose of increasing speed and improving accuracy. This course is designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

Improving Speed & Accuracy in Keyboarding + Access Card Package, McGraw-Hill Irwin Publishing,
ISBN 978-00-7780-4749. The textbook for this course is required.
Current textbook selection is available at the Amarillo College Bookstore on the Washington Street campus.
Pencil and pen.
Textbook is required at each class meeting.
The student will demonstrate significant increase in keyboarding speed and accuracy at 40 words per minute (wpm) with minimum proficiency.
The student will be able to complete satisfactorily all of the listed Performance Learning Objectives with a competency level based on the completion of required examinations administered under the supervision of the instructor and evaluated according to the instructors grading scale.
END-OF-COURSE OUTCOMES:
Demonstrate increased keyboarding speed and accuracy.

DEPARTMENTAL ATTENDANCE POLICY: Employees in the business world are expected to be at work promptly each day. With this in mind, students in office administration courses are expected to be in class promptly on each scheduled meeting day.
