Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

\ 2.  Learn about appropriate strategies and standards for teacher-child interactions in the classroom.

\ 3.  Explore current research on the importance of quality teacher-child interactions in the lives of young children.

Expected Student Behavior

Grading Criteria

\  On-line participation and postings:  25%

\ Article Writing Assignments:  25%

\ Final Project:  50%

\ A=90-100, B=80-89, C=70-79, D=60-69, F=59 or below

Attendance

\  You will be expected to attend class weekly (log-in to the course).  Assignments are your responsibility and are expected to be turned in on time.  Failure to do so will result in a lower grade.

All assignments are due on Sundays by 11:59 p.m.  Discussion forums are designed to simulate an in-class discussion and cannot be completed after the due date.  Discussion forums not completed by due date will receive a score of zero.  Article summaries may be completed after the due date for reduced credit.  See course website for detailed information.  Final project due Friday, May 6, 2016, by 11:59 p.m.  No late projects will be accepted, for any reason.

This course is designed to help you learn about the importance of teacher-child interactions in early childhood programs.  You will read information from articles and websites supporting the need for high-quality interactions.  We will explore various view-points on how interactions affect young children and how teachers can improve their relationships with children.  On-line participation and interaction is essential for your success in this course.
