PHED-1271-001 Personal and Group Trainer Certification

Prerequisites

Corequisite: PHED 1123

Course Description

Designed to prepare students to become personal trainers and group trainers. Upon completion, students will be prepared for employment as a personal trainer and group trainer. Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) are optional.

Expected Student Behavior

Students are expected to follow Amarillo Colleges policies and procedures in the student handbook as well as policies and procedures of the Carter Fitness Center.

Grading Criteria

Attendance = 10%

Quiz #1 = 10%

Quiz #2 = 10%

Quiz #3 = 20%

Quiz #4 = 10%

Quiz #5 = 10%

Final Exam = 30%

Attendance

Attendance is required and will count for 10% of total end of semester grade.
