Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a class must:

• consult with their instructor to obtain a signed academic withdrawal request form to submit to the AskAC department for processing
• consult with the financial aid office if receiving financial aid
• consult with the Veterans Benefit Coordinator if receiving veteran benefits
• consult with their academic advisor to determine how withdrawing may affect their enrollment in future semesters
  • NOTE:  The Texas Education Code stipulates that students attending Texas institutions of higher education for the first time fall 2007 and later may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career, including courses from which transfer students have withdrawn at other Texas institutions of higher education. (Senate Bill 1231) Rule 4.10.

Log in using the AC Connect Portal

In order to receive your AC Connect Email, you must log in through AC Connect at https://acconnect.actx.edu .

If you are an active staff or faculty member according to Human Resources, use "Exchange". All other students, use "AC Connect (Google) Email".

Expected Student Behavior

This is the start of the students future.  The student is expected to be respectful of others and to act in a professional manner.  Students are to bring his/her own supplies to class each meeting and to be dressed in Amarillo College proper attire.

Abide by classroom rules

NO CELL PHONES  Cell phones are to be put on silent mode during class time.

Be on time.  Each 4 hour class period is one week of class time.  Most class periods will have 1 to 2 projecst to complete during class.  The last hour to hour and a half will dedicated to projects.

Tests:  Mid Term exam Feb 2 and Final exam Mar 9  Do NOT ask for help on Exams

Grading Criteria

Homework and projects: 50%  Grading by rubric and homework grade

Mid term exam: 25%

Final exam 25%

Attendance

Attendance is required.  Three absences will result in the final grade being lowered by 8 points.  Three tardies can result in the final grade being lowered by 5 points.  Remember:  Each class period represents one week.

Since this is a project based course, any project missed will receive a grade of zero ( ‘0’ ).

ASSIGNMENTS:  All assignment will be done in pencil—NO INK (grade of 0).  Show all work; do not give only the answer.  Problem will be counted wrong.  Assignments that are assigned on Tuesday will be due the following Tuesday; assignments assigned on Thursday will be due the following Thursday.  If an assignment is not turned in on time, it will be due the next class period for a maximum grade of 75.  If the late assignment is not turned by then a zero ( ‘0’ ) will be recorded in the grade book.  It is the students responsibility to get and keep up with the assignments.  I will send out an email to all students in the class before class time with the assignment, plus the daily assignment will be written on the board.  NO EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS
