Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a class must:

  • consult with their instructor to obtain a signed academic withdrawal request form to submit to the AskAC department for processing
  • consult with the financial aid office if receiving financial aid
  • consult with the Veterans Benefit Coordinator if receiving veteran benefits
  • consult with their academic advisor to determine how withdrawing may affect their enrollment in future semesters
    • NOTE:  The Texas Education Code stipulates that students attending Texas institutions of higher education for the first time fall 2007 and later may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career, including courses from which transfer students have withdrawn at other Texas institutions of higher education. (Senate Bill 1231) Rule 4.10.

Expected Student Behavior

Academic Integrity will not be tolerated.  No credit will be given for any work that is not your own.

Inappropriate Language will not be tolerated.  The student will be asked to leave class, and no credit will be given for anything that is missed.

Students are responsible for e-mail messages sent to AC’s e-mail account.  E-mails should be professional and contain proper spelling, grammar, and format.  This is the way I will contact you, if necessary, and the way you should contact me.

Homework:

Students should complete all homework on time in pencil.  All problems should be completely worked out. If answers are correct, but no work is shown to arrive at that answer, the problem will be counted wrong.  Work that is illegible will not be graded and will receive no credit. Homework will be due at the beginning of each class period.  After homework is collected anything turned in after that will be late and will receive a maximum score of 60.  No homework will be accepted late after the beginning of the next class period for which the homework was originally due.

Exams:

No make-up Exams will be given.

Attendance

Attendance is a requirement.  If a student misses class, it is his/her responsibility to get notes from a classmate and have homework assignment ready for next class meeting.
