Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a class must:

  • consult with their instructor to obtain a signed academic withdrawal request form to submit to the AskAC department for processing
  • consult with the financial aid office if receiving financial aid
  • consult with the Veterans Benefit Coordinator if receiving veteran benefits
  • consult with their academic advisor to determine how withdrawing may affect their enrollment in future semesters
    • NOTE:  The Texas Education Code stipulates that students attending Texas institutions of higher education for the first time fall 2007 and later may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career, including courses from which transfer students have withdrawn at other Texas institutions of higher education. (Senate Bill 1231) Rule 4.10.

FIRT-1343-001 Fire Officer II

Prerequisites

Course Description

Identify the organizational structure of local government; evaluate member performance, and prepare and present public education programs and news releases. Conduct fire inspections at the company level; investigate fires to determine origin and preliminary cause; identify duties involved in supervising multi-unit emergency operations, and review injury, accident and health exposure reports. Meets the curriculum requirements of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) for Fire Officer II certification.

Attendance

Student must show up in class for scheduled meetings and must make satifactory advancement in on-going online lessons, quizzes and test.

Final and state skills test are mandatory for completion of class.

Calendar

   First day of class    Meet in room 104 PSTC

There will be class scheduled in late June or Early July for Skill practice.  July 19th 1800

July 26 1800   Final Test and Skills evaluations

There will be two test, one on June 27th and July 19th 

It will require 60 plus hours of study to complete this course and satisfy TCFP requirements

The state test will be on 8/1/17 at 0900 in the testing center on Washington st. campus

State test will be     TBD  0900  Washington Campus Testing Center

Additional Information

A fee of $85  will be collected for the state application to test, and is due on the first day of class.
