The ACcess Learning Center is a competency-based course designed to help you build basic skills in math, reading, and/or writing. You will follow individualized lesson plans developed for your particular skill area based on weaknesses identified from your pre-test results. You will work with instructors to build skills as well as practice building skills on the computer or using other supplemental materials. While the flexibility of the program allows you to work in the Center around your weekly personal schedule, you must complete at least 60 hours by the end of the semester, which averages out to approximately 8.5 hours per week for an eight week course. You may, however, complete the course early if you can demonstrate you have the skills needed to pass the course. An initial orientation is required prior to beginning your course of study. You will be given assessments during the first week of enrollment to determine your skill level for placement in the program.
