AC Opens Search to Replace Regent

Four newly-elected Amarillo College Board of Regents took the oath of office Tuesday evening, May 19,  during the regularly scheduled meeting held on AC’s Moore County Campus in Dumas. The new and reelected members include: Neal Nossaman, serving a two-year term; Anette Carlisle, Patrick Miller and Daniel Henke who will each serve six-year terms.

In addition to the newly-filled seats, a vacancy on the Board was also created when long-time regent Carroll Mack Forrester tendered his resignation. Forrester was elected to the Amarillo College Board of Regents in 1998 and was serving his third term which would have expired in 2017.

Forrester earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University and had worked for his family at both Forrester Truck and Mack Forrester Ranch. His interest in education led him to begin working more recently as a substitute teacher in the Amarillo Independent School District.

Forrester’s departure leaves an opening on the Board that will be filled by special appointment. A subcommittee of Regents, headed by Anette Carlisle, will head the search for a replacement.

Persons interested in being appointed to Forrester’s seat on the AC Board of Regents should submit a letter of intent and a resume no later than Tuesday, June 2, to the attention of Brenda Sadler in the Amarillo College President’s office, P.O. Box 447, Amarillo, Texas 79178. The letter and resume can also be emailed to: bksadler@actx.edu. For more information, call Brenda Sadler (806)371-5124.
