Tutoring

Free tutoring is available to help you with all your science classes. If you need extra help with a course, feel free to schedule a non-mandatory tutoring session. The tutoring center has many resources that include computers, models, microscopes and slides, and reference books, group study rooms and mock lab practicals.  Be sure to drop by to find out more details and check about tutoring opportunities.

Appointments are required for mandatory tutoring. (Be sure to bring your AC ID).  Mandatory tutoring is for students that scored less than 70 on a major exam. A mandatory tutoring session is a total of one hour:

• 1st 30 minutes work with tutor on study habits, focus on exams, and questions.
• 2nd 30 minutes self-study with help from tutor as needed. Please make appointments early!

The sessions must be completed at the same time and at least one day before the next exam for best results. Your tutor will send the record of the mandatory tutoring to the Science Testing Center in time for your next exam

Monday - Thursday: 8am - 8pm (1st appointment at 8:30am, last appointment at 7pm)

SCIENCE TESTING CENTER (STC), Warren 112, 371-5948

• No test will be handed out later than 1.5 hours before closing. Monday through Friday, the last test will be handed out at 8:30pm. On Saturday, the last test will be handed out at 6pm.
• All students enrolled in a science course should expect to take their regular lecture exams in the Science Testing Center. Finals will be taken in class. Students must have a photo ID to take a test, AC student ID is preferred.
