Adjunct Faculty Cohort

 

Description:

This 6-week hybrid cohort provides strategies and best practices for creating engaging online and in person learning experiences. Topics include Blackboard Ultra basics, establishing online classroom culture, providing meaningful feedback, fostering student engagement, formative assessments, and connecting students with support resources. You will add to your toolkit for designing impactful, interactive, and learner-centered courses. Participants will be required to attend one of the come and go check-in sessions on the dates listed below.

Learning Objectives:

  • Navigate and utilize essential Ultra Blackboard tools and features.
  • Establish an engaging online classroom culture through welcome activities, norms, and multi-modal communication.
  • Provide meaningful, timely, and personalized feedback to students using rubrics, audio/video tools, and individual support.
  • Implement strategies to increase student engagement through interactive discussions, peer learning, and participatory assignments.
  • Develop and analyze formative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Curate and share academic support services,resources, and tools to promote student success.

  • February 19th-April 5th 2024
              Come and go check-ins 2/29/24, 3/26/24, 4/2/24 (note these will be available on Zoom from 3:30-6:30pm on each date).

Deliverable:

Participants will select a specific strategy from one of the available modules to integrate into their classrooms. Following its implementation, they will submit a reflection, detailing their experiences and observations through the provided link.
