Description:

In this course, participants will explore relevant theories of instruction, analyze 21st century learning environments, and identify and practice instructional strategies for student engagement, critical thinking and collaboration in the classroom. Participants will also examine theories of motivation and cognitive engagement in learning. Participants will focus on how classroom, school, work, and social environments shape and influence student learning, engagement, and motivation.

The Rank and Tenure courses do not count towards the Professional Learning points or stipend

Deliverable:

There will be homework along the way.
Homework can include, but is not limited to:

  • Readings 
    • Journal Articles, Blackboard content postings, other
    • There is no book to buy; everything will be availiable in Blackboard
  • Course research
  • Blackboard Discussions

The overall assessment of the course is the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning project with a presentation at ACES.

Deadline for the project is the date of TBA.
