Minute Paper

Minute Paper

Minute Papers/Quick Writes are an easy way for students to recall what was learned, recap recent information, and summarize. These also help the instructor know where the students are in their learning.

Use as a recap of yesterday's content at the beginning of class, use as a brain dump at the end of a chunk of content, use as the "thinking" part of the think-pair-share, use as an exit ticket or closure to recap content at the end of class.

Instructors can give students 1-3 minutes to do a minute paper/quick write. This can be used to summarize the main points of what was discussed in class, to reflect on big ideas, recall procedures, list steps etc. These can be done in student notes and then shared out, or turned in as an exit ticket.

Same as above, but quickwrites can be submitted to a Google document, Jamboard, or Google form.
