Carl Perkins Grant supports Amarillo College's efforts to provide a learning environment that enhances the personal, intellectual and professional development of all members of the college community.

Carl Perkins help strengthen the college's career and technical education programs also known as CTE programs. The goal of Perkins is to improve the a quality of CTE(Career and Technical Education) programs by providing federal funding for CTE programs across the United States

Goals of Perkins at Amarillo College.

  • Create Strong relationships between business and industry
  • Prepare CTE for high-skill, high-wage, or high-demand occupations in current or emerging professions.
  • Promote the development of services and activities to enhance CTE instruction, secondary education and post-secondary education.
  • Provide technical assistance that promotes leadership,initial preparation, and professional development, as well as improve the quality of CTE teachers, faculty, administrators, and counselors/advisors.
  • Support partnerships among secondary schools and post secondary institutions.
  • Provide CTE students with opportunities to develop skills needed to be productive members of society.
