Skills for Small Business
Amarillo College has partnered with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) for the Skills for Small Business (SSB) Grant. The SSB grant is designed to support companies with less than 100 employees. This grant-funded opportunity supports small businesses by providing high-quality employee training to enhance new and incumbent employees' skills.
Program Details
- This grant-funded opportunity supports small businesses by providing high-quality employee training to new and incumbent employees.
- The program funds $2000 per new employee and $1000 per incumbent employee.
- Training must be provided by a public community or technical college, or the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). No third-party vendor training is allowed.
- Funding for training is for full-time employees.
- All training must be selected from Amarillo College's active course catalog.
- Employers must pay the prevailing wage in their local labor markets.
- Managers and business owners may be eligible to participate, depending on job duties.
