The Mass Media Associate Degree is designed for students who intend to transfer to a university to complete a Bachelor's Degree in mass media, mass communication or a related field.  The emphasis is on completing all general education requirements and freshmen/sophomore level media classes.  The Mass Media Associate Degree program of study follows the Communication Field of Study Curricula for Advertising/Public Relations, Journalism, and Mass Communication/Radio-TV as adopted by the Higher Education Coordinating Board. Students who follow this curricula will be able to major in the above fields of study and transfer between 12 and 15 hours of course work in these major program options to public two - and four - year institutions in Texas. Students are advised to meet with the transfer institution they plan to attend to ensure they are enrolled in the correct courses for their particular transfer major.
