Admission Period

For Spring 2026 Admittance



Traditional and Transition Nursing Programs

 

Applications will be open from September 4 - October 24, 2025
The last day to take the TEAS will be October 22, 2025
Applications due October 24, 2025 - no later than 12:00 p.m.

 

Cohort Admission:  

  • Cohorts to be admitted this Spring are Associate Degree Nursing (RN), Transition LVN to RN, and Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN)
  • RNEC (Rural Nursing Education Consortium) applications are not available during this application period.

 

Process for applying to RN and VN Programs

The steps listed below are mandatory and must be fully completed for your application to be considered.
  1.  Apply to Amarillo College.   APPLY HERE
  2. Submit all College Transcripts to the Registrar’s Office.
  3. Schedule and attend an Advising appointment with a Nursing Advisor, before attending an Admissions Meeting.  Schedule Advising Appointment
  4. Attend an in-person Admissions Meeting. These will be held in the West Campus Lecture Hall. Students do not need to reserve a spot and will sign in upon arrival. Zoom meetings are available.  Students must sign in upon arrival to receive credit for attendance.

  • 10 am - 11 am Thursday, September 4
  • 6 pm – 7 pm Monday, September 15 
  • 2 pm – 3 pm Tuesday, September 30
  • 4 pm – 5 pm Wednesday, October 15

  1. Students will receive information about scheduling and paying for their TEAS exam at this meeting.
  2. All students must take the TEAS at the AC campus or provide a TEAS transcript through ATI. You may only take the TEAS exam once during each admission period; scores will expire after 12 months. If you have previously tested with HESI, scores are valid for up to 12 months. However, once you submit a TEAS score, your HESI score will no longer be eligible, even if the score was higher. HESI will not be accepted after Fall 2025.

    Any questions regarding the TEAS exam will need to be directed to the West Campus Testing Center at (806) 354-6052. Any questions regarding point calculations will need to be directed to one of the AC Nursing Advisors (806) 371-5000.

  1. After taking the TEAS exam, the student will complete the online application for admittance to the nursing program for the current admission period.  COMPLETE NURSING APPLICATION
