The Amarillo Junior College District conducted public hearings on August 17, 2012 and August 20, 2012 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the Amarillo Junior College District from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 6.15 percent.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised last year at last year’s tax rate of .18938 for each $100 of taxable value was $16,447,479.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the
proposed tax rate of .19950 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property
added to the tax roll this year, is $17,308,192.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the
proposed tax rate of .19950 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $17,595,808.

The Board of Regents is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on August 28, 2012 at the Palo Duro Room of the College Union Building, Amarillo College, 2201 S.
