Johnny Mize, currently a director for FirstBank Southwest, has 25 years of experience working and consulting with executives of Fortune 500 corporations, insurance companies, third-party claim administrators, insurance brokers and governmental entities. He was elected in 2013 to serve a six-year term on the AC Board of Regents.
Mize served as president and CEO of Corporate Systems for 12 years. In that position, he spearheaded a successful company turnaround at the beginning of his tenure and then continued positive growth in both revenue and profits until the purchase of the company by Marsh in 2005.
He has devoted his professional career to refining the concepts on which successful risk-management systems and programs are built. As president and CEO, he focused Corporate Systems on delivering measurable value to customers and shareholders. During his leadership, Corporate Systems increased the breadth of its product and service offerings while revenues and profits more than doubled. Prior to becoming president and CEO, Mize held a variety of positions including vice president of client services, western regional manager, and account executive.
Mize holds a BBA in finance from Texas Tech University, having graduated Magna Cum Laude. He has taught an entrepreneurship class at AC. He also is on the West Texas A&M Enterprise Center advisory board and is currently a member of Young Presidents Organization. He gives to his community by serving on the boards of United Way of Amarillo & Canyon, Chamber of Commerce, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and First Nazarene Church. He is also involved in fundraising for the Boy Scouts, serving as chairman of the Good Scout Lunch since 2011.
