Scheduling classes around an active lifestyle has never been easier for students at Amarillo College, where the first class day of the fast-approaching Fall Semester is Monday, Aug. 25.

Thanks to a new online feature called Schedule Planner, anyone who has completed the admissions process at AC—along with returning AC students—can easily fashion a workable, individualized schedule that meets their specific needs. They can do so by logging in at acconnect.actx.edu/ and scrolling down to the “Schedule Planner” link.

“The days of sorting through pages and pages of long lists of classes and struggling to find viable combinations are over,” Bob Austin, vice president of student affairs, said. “Schedule Planner dramatically simplifies the class-scheduling process for students.”

It does so by letting a student identify both the classes they desire to take and the times they are unavailable to attend classes. The system then evaluates every possible scenario and provides a list of best-case scheduling options from which the student may choose.

Upon completion of the process, Schedule Planner even provides a color-coded calendar that denotes both the class times selected and the times the user has opted to schedule around. All they have to do then is navigate back to the “Registration” link and complete the registration process.
