AC Celebrates Faculty and Staff Length-of-Service Milestones 

Amarillo College will recognize staff and faculty for their length of service at the Legacies ceremony set for 9 a.m. Friday, March 21 at the Oak Room in the College Union Building, Washington Street Campus. 

“We like to take time each year to recognize these milestone markers of service to AC,” said Will Ratliff, director of organizational development. “We appreciate each of these 69 employees who will be recognized for their service.” 

The group includes three AC employees Terry Kleffman, programming services technical lead; Jim Laughlin, professor of music; and Pricha Thephaphine, information technology support manager, who have served Amarillo College for 35 years. 

Shane Helper, AC’s chief information officer, supervises Kleffman and Thephaphine. 

“For 35 years, Terry has shaped our college’s Colleague system with innovation and expertise,” Hepler said. “Pricha has led IT Support with dedication, solving challenges and keeping our college running smoothly.” 

Camille Nies, chair of music and theatre, oversees Laughlin’s teaching and service to AC. 

“From founding June Jazz to launching new ensembles, Jim’s legacy at AC sparks endless inspiration,” Nies said. “His passion and creativity ignite every classroom, stage, and event.” 

There are five AC employees who will be recognized for 25 years of service. There are 12 who will be recognized for 20 years of service; and seven for 15 years. Fifteen who will be recognized for 10 years of service; and 27 AC employees who will be recognized for 5 years of service to AC. 

“We are excited to celebrate each of these employees,” said Aubrey Brice, AC’s organizational development/learning experience designer. “Their work and years of service demonstrates the culture of caring we’ve worked to build here at AC.”
