Careers in Education on Display at AC’s Next Experience
High school students interested in a career in education or the liberal arts are set to attend Amarillo College’s Next Experience today(April 28) at Dutton Hall on AC’s Washington Street Campus.
“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to jumpstart your teaching career,” said Rochelle Fouts, AC instructor of education. “We look forward to welcoming you to Amarillo College and helping you make the transition from high school to higher education.”
Attendees will have a chance to explore the campus, meet faculty, and staff, and connect with student TEACH Club members.
The event began at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome and campus tour. At 10 a.m. participants will meet with an education advisor. At 11 a.m. attendees will be invited to select from a list of college classes to attend for 45 minutes.
“Getting to experience a college class will be helpful for students who imagine these classes to be much different than they are,” Fouts said. “I expect this part of Next to be inspiring to these students.”
The event will conclude with a luncheon including a question-and-answer session with TEACH members.
