Amarillo College to Host Multiple February Job Fairs
Amarillo College’s Career and Employment Services will host three industry-specific job fairs for students and employers in February.
The fairs will begin with an Industry Career Fair from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at Amarillo College’s East Campus.
The second, an Engineering Career and Transfer Fair, will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Amarillo College’s Washington Street Campus, College Union Building, Oak Room.
The final career fair in February will be the Nursing Job Fair, set for noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Amarillo College’s West Campus, Lecture Hall Foyer.
Students do not have to sign up for a job fair prior to dropping by the fair. Chris Prock, coordinator of AC’s Career and Employment Services, encourages students to bring multiple copies of their resume to leave with people they speak to at the fair.
“You might find a company that is a great fit, and you never knew about them before the fair,” Prock said. “Students are welcome anytime during a fair.”
The events are open to employers until the day before the fair begins. Employers are directed to create an account on Handshake and follow up by signing up for a table at the Industry, Engineering or Nursing Job Fairs.
“The timing for these fairs is great because it is early in the semester, so students are still actively looking for opportunities, and employers are seeking to fill positions quickly,” Prock said. “This gives students the opportunity to seek out summer internships and be on the lookout for full-time roles after graduation or even before.”
