Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) A drafting course in which students participate in a comprehensive project from conception to conclusion.

Students enrolled in an educational program in preparation for obtaining certain occupational licenses are potentially ineligible for such license if the student has been convicted of an offense. For further information, please contact your advisor, the Legal Clinic, or the faculty member in charge of the educational program that you seek to enroll in. The further information you will receive will include notification to you of your right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from the licensing authority in order to clarify your particular situation.

Student Performance

 The drafting student will complete a comprehensive project from inception to conclusion.  Each student is expected to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of drafting skills, cad software, and working drawings.  Each student will do a formal presentation to instructors, classmates  and industry professionals, making use of drawings, renderings, and presentation tools appropriate to the project.  Each student will submit a project outline, weekly journal entries documenting progress and time spent, and a final project report.  

The project should require a minimum of 100 hours to complete.  The project outline is due by the end (Friday) of the first week of class.  The first weekly journal entry is due by the end (Friday) of week two, and then every Friday after that until the presentation.  Presentations will be scheduled for the last two weeks of class before finals.

It is the responsibility of the student to initiate drop or withdrawal procedures.  Students who stop attending class but do not officially drop or withdraw from this course will receive a letter grade at the end of the semester.

Any student who, because of a disabling condition, may require some special arrangements in order to meet course requirements should contact the Student Service Center room 119, phone 371-5436 as soon as possible.

Grading Criteria

Students will complete a project outline, weekly journal entries, and a final report, all of which must be printed from a word processor.  Late assignments will not bed accepted. 

Attendance

 Each student is responsible for his or her own schedule.  Weekly journals will be submitted to document activities, time spent, and progress. 

Each student is responsible for regularly checking the ACconnect web site and student Gmail to keep up with messages and announcements.
