Attendance

  • Students are responsible to report to the assigned clinical area on time and to be dressed according to the “Student Dress Code Policy for Clinical”.
  • The Clinical experience is an essential component of the program. Absenteeism jeopardizes the opportunity for successful completion of the course.  Clinical absences must be reported to the instructor at least 30 minutes before the time designated to report for the clinical experience.  Failure to notify the instructor prior to the clinical experience may result in failure of the course.  Students who arrive late to the clinical area may be asked to leave if report has been missed or arrival time is incongruent to providing appropriate patient care. Precepted students must also call the health care agency. Clinical absences will be made up at the discretion of the instructor. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the respective instructor regarding make-up assignments.  Failure to do so will result in failure to meet the course outcomes.  After an illness, a physician's statement may be required.
