Administrative Drop Policy
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Student Withdrawal Procedures
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Course Description
Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college and student.

End-of-Course Outcomes: As outlined in the learning plan, apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry; and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.

There is also an online companion for students to access publisher materials and the log-in information comes bundled with the book purchased from the Amarillo College West Campus Bookstore.

The student will also need access to the internet and Blackboard Learning for other resources needed during the semester.

Expected Student Behavior
Your participation in class and online helps you learn more and makes the class more interesting.
You need to schedule time during each week to complete your coursework as if you were attending an in person class weekly.

Honesty, integrity, and respect will guide this course. You are expected to treat all participants with respect at all times. In discussing controversial issues, it is important that students feel comfortable expressing their opinion, yet it is imperative that students refrain from using derogatory or offensive language.
Read assigned chapters, view the chapter power point presentations, and participate in discussion forums every week.
Complete weekly learning activities and exams over course content.
Attend the scheduled in-class meetings as indicated in the schedule and actively participate in discussions.
Keep in mind that grades are not given. Grades are earned based on student performance. Please note the requirements for earning the grade you desire and act accordingly throughout the semester. If you complete the coursework in a timely fashion, there isn’t a reason for you not to successfully complete this course.
Assignments and exams are due on the dates stated. Late work will be accepted but will NOT receive full credit. Partial credit is better than no credit!

Attendance
Attend class regularly and promptly. Attendance is vitally important for the successful completion of this course.
This is a hybrid course. Part of the instruction will be online and then we will meet as a class on the following Wednesday's in the Allied Health Building Room 139 on West Campus:

- Wednesday, March 6 at 5:30
- Wednesday, May 8 at 5:30 -- Professional Portfolio Due & Finals
The online portion of the course will run from Tuesday afternoon through Monday evening at 11pm.

This is a paired course, which means you are enrolled in CDEC 1294 ST: In Early Childhood and CDEC 2264 Practicum in Advanced Child Care. To simplify things, the syllabus requirements for both classes will be identical and you will work in Blackboard from just one course. All online work and homework will be found in the course CDEC 1294 ST: In Early Childhood.
Each module will open on Tuesday afternoons and be open through Monday nights, closing at 11pm. All work for the week/module is due by 11pm on Monday nights. Late work is accepted; however, it will not receive full credit. But, partial credit is better than no credit!
We will meet as a class on the following Tuesday's in Dutton Hall 101 on Washington Street Campus.
