Tutoring for Success applies to any student whose overall performance in the course falls below 75%. The instructor will create the task in the Student Engagement Portal (Watermark) to direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty- or SI-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. The tutoring service assigned, the due date for when the tutoring must be completed, and the amount of tutoring required are at the discretion of the instructor. Additionally, the task will alert the student’s success team. Students who do not fulfill the assigned tutoring task may be subject to program- and course-specific penalties that could result in a grade reduction and/or in not being allowed to progress in the course until the tutoring requirement has been satisfied.
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) For more information on Drop and Withdrawal Policies, please visit the Registrar's Office Web site.

The following criteria will be used to determine your grade:
Passing course grade: 75% or higher
No late assignments will be accepted for this course
Rationale: The National Council Licensure Examination for RNs (NCLEX-RN) has become harder, to reflect the need for nurses who have a high level of critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. The increase in patient acuity and nursing responsibilities is placing greater demand on current entry-level nurses in comparison to their cohorts in the past. The National Council for State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) prepares the NCLEX-RN and establishes the minimum passing standard.
The Grading scale for RNSG 1128 is:
A = 90-100%
B = 80-89%
C = 75-79%*
D = 74-60%
F = below 60%
Required graded assignments:
Assignment grades are not rounded.
If an assignment grade is 69.9 then with NO rounding, your grade is a D. If an assignment grade is 89.98, with NO rounding your grade is a B. If a case study or quiz is 79.85, it is recorded as a 79.85.
Your Final Course average is rounded once all grades are entered. If your average is a 74.5 or higher, it will be rounded to a 75%. If your final average is a 74.4 or less, the grade is not passing.
All tutoring and remediation requirements must be completed in order for students to take the module exams and/or receive the grade for the Group Project. Amarillo College requires ALL students to attend mandatory tutoring with a course assignment, average or exam grade of less than 75%.
The final grade will consist of 3 Unit exams, ATI assignments, Attendance, Classroom assignments, and a Group Presentation.
Unit I Exam 20%
Unit II Exam 20%
Unit II Exam 20%
ATI Assignments 10%
Attendance 5%
