The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

All assignments must be done on Blackboard. A computer with internet access is necessary. Assignments can be done at home. However, if you do not have access to the internet at home, there are computers on the main campus on Washington St., and on the West Campus in building B or D. The Midterm exam and Final exam will be taken in the West Campus Success Center.
The first submission is due by the due date posted - 1159pm Wednesday. For late assignments, there will be a 15 pt. deduction for assignments submitted between Wednesday and Sunday. After the Sunday following the assigned week for that specific unit, grades will become a 0.
In order to receive your AC Connect Email, you must log in through AC Connect at https://acconnect.actx.edu .
If you are an active staff or faculty member according to Human Resources, use "Exchange". All other students, use "AC Connect (Google) Email".
All students must have completed an assignment, or started a quiz by noon Monday, June 8 to be counted as "attending" this course.
All assignments in this course are done online. It is recommended that you do not attempt assignments on your phone. If you are needing to use a computer, the Success Center on the West Campus is located in building B, room 112. It will be open Monday - Thursday 8AM to 530PM. There is a census taken after few days of class. As previously mentioned, students must have started a quiz, completed a journal entry, or completed a Hands-On-Activity to be counted as "attending" this online class. Since all the quizzes are done in Blackboard, there will be no attendance expectations after June 8 (Monday)
However, completing all expected assignments in each unit will take AT LEAST 2-5 hours a week. You should log in at least twice a week to stay caught up with assignments.
Summer 2021
All assignment for each unit are due by 1159pm on WEDNESDAY of the week that specific unit is scheduled. There is a grace period for late assignments to be accepted until Sunday. Late assignments will have 15 pts. deducted.

STUDENT SUPPORT
Supplemental study materials and assistance are available for all students, as well as support for some personal needs. As of this semester, Amarillo College has adopted a TUTORING FOR SUCCESS policy. If you are not meeting the expectation of meeting due dates, and your overall grade is below 70% you may be asked to spend time in the Success Center in building B on the West Campus.
This extra time is to help ensure student success in this fast paced-course. The West Campus Success Center is located in WCB112. They will be open from 8am to 530pm Monday through Thursday.
