The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.
Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.
NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) PHYS-1401-001 College Physics I
Prerequisite: Math 1316
Fundamental principles of physics, using algebra and trigonometry; the principles and applications of classical mechanics and thermodynamics, including harmonic motion, mechanical waves and sound, physical systems, Newton's Laws of Motion, and gravitation and other fundamental forces; with emphasis on problem solving. Laboratory activities will reinforce lecture content.

1. Maintain a minimum of a C average or above in this course. SInce this is a dual credit class , your assignments, quizzes, labs, and all exams are performed in your on campus classroom. Your high school instructor is the primary person in charge of all work, grading, and your outcome in this class. This is a college level class and as such expectation are higher than normal. It is the responsibility of the student to attend class. Regular attendance is necessary for satisfactory achievement.
It is the student’s responsibility to make up any missed assignments. One lab grade will be dropped at the end of the semester. If the student is unable to attend a lab session, that grade will be dropped or the lowest lab grade will be used if all labs are completed.
