Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Course Description

Study of heat transference, motors, pumps and other mechanical devices; solid state switches; photovoltaic plates and energy conversion; thermal dynamics; and solar energy.

Expected Student Behavior

Cell phones will be silenced during scheduled class and labl times.  Use limited to break time only.

No tobacco or vape use on AC property

Drinks may be allowed during the lecture portion of class at student desks.  No food or drink allowed in the computer lab desks.  No jewelry, shorts, sandals or flip-flops allowed in labs.

Grading Criteria

Students should complete all performance tasks on time at the required mastery level.  This includes all online homework, quizzes, and exams as well as hands on projects in the lab.


Unless it is an emergency, we highly recommend you not miss class.  Recovery of missed information will be the responsibility of you (the student). Class begins at the scheduled time.  If you are not in your seat in class or at the designated location during lab exercises, you will be counted tardy.  You will be required to show an acceptable understanding of the topics covered during you absence.
