Major: Education - Teacher's Certification

“Amarillo College helped me realize I was capable of achieving more than I thought possible and guided me towards the career I want in the field of education. Once I had that figured out, the rest was easy, thanks to a supportive AC community, getting involved with different organizations, and connecting with my advisors. The resources and events they offered provided me with the clarity I needed for my next steps. Meeting with my transfer university advisors on the AC campus was a tremendous benefit, which helped me complete my WT admissions tasks in a timely manner.

I am eager for the new WT experiences and hope to find the same supportive community as I cherished at AC.  I hope to be as involved there as I was at AC. I look forward to expanding my skills and knowledge that I have gained at the university level.

I am excited, I'm closer to my career goals, and continuing my education at WT with new challenges. Above all, I want to continue growing and stepping outside my comfort zone to achieve my teacher certification."

Major: Business Administration

“Being an active AC student and leader prepared me for my transfer to WT. My peers made my AC experience fun and built my confidence to be a proactive leader. The AC support is so wonderful;  from my HSA sponsor, Nancy Farren, helping me make connections; to my financial aid co-workers for encouraging me and I learned so much from their experience. I’m excited to begin my international business degree and connect to the opportunities that await me. I hope to make new connections, meet my challenges head-on, make myself proud and enjoy the ride!"

I know it's something WT can offer me, and I'm eager to keep honing my leadership skills and building on the abilities I've gained. All of which, I can put forth toward my bachelor's degree and future endeavors. Starting this new chapter at WT is something I can't wait for!”

Amarillo College has been a wonderful place to attend. The Education Department has been so supportive, and they all genuinely care that I finish my degree. Margarita Rocha-Zubia, my advisor, always kept me up to date on important events and took the time to explain the different paths available to me moving forward.

I am so excited to be one step closer to finishing my teacher’s certification and have the opportunity to meet new friends going into the same field as me.
